4. Windows (WSL) Starter Guide

This document explains how to set up a software environment for developing on the BL602 hardware under Windows using WSL. The WSL (Windows Subsystem for Linux) lets developers run a GNU/Linux environment directly on Windows.

4.1. Install WSL

On step 6 install your favorite Linux distribution but we recommend Ubuntu on this guide.

4.2. Setting up the build environment and getting the code

  • Open Ubuntu and install make and unzip by using the command sudo apt install make unzip

  • Decompress the zip file containing the SDK, by running the command: unzip bl_iot_sdk.zip

4.3. Compiling an example project

  • Enter the directory of the project you want to compile, such as cd customer_app/bl602_demo_event

  • To compile the project run the command ./genromap
